About Me
I'm a ceramicist working in Northern California making functional pieces that can be used in everyday life. I pull a lot of my inspiration from Japanese aesthetics, nature and geology, architecture, and industrial design. I try to achieve a balance of refined yet organic and imperfect in my work.
The Process
Paying close attention to the tiniest of details, I design, prototype, 3d print, and create molds to cast my ceramic pieces in. It is a meticulous and highly involved process where any small mistake can throw off the final product.
I mix my own glazes and experiment with different wood ashes and sand, to create interesting glaze interactions and effects which appear organic and variegated. This results as each piece being unique and one of a kind.
