3D Scene Understanding for XR
The Al Research Team at Meta Reality Labs is developing the first multimodal LLM capable of reasoning within 3D space for XR. My role was to design and visualize scenarios that demonstrate how this model interprets and responds to real-world spatial understanding.
Collaborating closely with the Technical Art Director, Creative Director, and Animation Director, our team produced a polished video montage in just a few weeks for presentation to the CTO. The piece showcased relatable, everyday situations — simple tasks and common problems — that could be solved using a 3D LLM, making the technology's potential both accessible and compelling.

Shop Like A Pro

The Wearables Team wanted to demonstrate how their Al technology could simplify and enhance the shopping experience. We developed a set of scenarios to highlight this, including finding the right lightbulb for a bedroom lamp and determining whether a specific pair of shoes would fit someone's lifestyle and goals.

3D AI Mesh + Texture Gen

The Al Research Team at Meta developed an in-house tool for 3D mesh and texture generation. Our team was tasked with exploring its creative potential by designing prompts, generating meshes and textures, and refining them through 3D lighting, animation, and rigging. We also experimented with translating these digital outputs into physical objects through 3D printing. Finally, we benchmarked our in-house tool against similar external tools to identify opportunities for improvement and future development.

Facial Scanning VFX

On the Reality Labs team, our role as creative artists was to visualize the look and feel of codec avatar technology and shape the user experience for real-time facial scanning. I explored ways to represent the scanning process and provide intuitive feedback to users while it was happening. I first built the effects in 3D, then applied generative Al to generate more varied and imaginative visual results, expanding the range of possibilities for how the process could be portrayed.

Codec Avatars

At Reality Labs, we're working on the Codec Avatars technology and how they can enhance connection with our friends, loved ones, and colleagues. Codec Avatars are hyper-realistic, Al-driven virtual representations of people. The aim is to capture subtle facial expressions, eye contact, and body language to enable social interactions in virtual reality that are as authentic as real-world encounters. Our team was tasked on how to visualize real-life scenarios that showcase the codec technology in everyday life. Use cases such as watching a sporting game with loved ones living far away, meeting remotely with coworkers in an office, and hanging out with friends in a living room while playing a virtual game together.

Interior Environments

I developed diverse virtual environments for mixed reality applications, with styles spanning from realistic and immersive to futuristic and conceptually imaginative.
